Parking garages were full and charging a ridiculous amount, while the amount of jay walkers could have easily funded the police department of Miami Beach. The reason for the chaos: the Skrillex Cell Tour had finally reached South Florida, featuring Skrillex, 12th Planet, Two Fresh and Nadastorm.

The Fillmore was filled with barely-dressed patrons whose limited clothing consisted of fishnet stockings, low cut t-shirts, short shorts and in some cases just their underwear. While 12th Planet was playing their set, the crowd was gyrating to the bass blasting from the speakers.

Upon hearing "I Can't Stop," I was one of the many who were instantly transferred into an alternate universe. Lights, bass and people filled my senses and drove me to dancing. "Needed Change" calmed down the Fillmore for a brief moment before the bass dropped and the place erupted once again.

The set was at its end, but 12th Planet wasn't quite done yet. John Dadzie played his dubstep remix to the Tetris theme song and jumped off of the stage, surfing with the crowd. Security jumped, trying to quickly bring him back to the stage, but Dadzie wasn’t dissuaded from spending some quality time with his fans. By this time it was 10:15 p.m. and people were trying to conserve their energy for the main event: Skrillex.

As soon as the main attraction, Skrillex, jumped onto the stage he was ready to begin a slow progression into the show of the century with "Rock & Roll (Will Take You To The Mountain)." He was known as Sonny Moore, the front man for the band From First To Last, but now his name is released from the lips of all dubsteppers as Skrillex. The crowd quickly moved with the beat as "Breaking A Sweat" began to fall in quick unison with the previous song. Moore played everyone’s favorites, but the flow was interrupted, the sweet sounds had to be paused to allow listeners to catch their breath after a series of intense tracks.

I was one of the many who were instantly transferred into an alternate universe. Lights, bass and people filled my senses and drove me to dancing.

Almost every single was played from the record Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites. The crowd was under a trance as Moore continued with remixes of "Cinema" by Benny Benassi and "Levels" by Swedish DJ Avicii. Sonny even let Miami be the first crowd to hear a song finished minutes before he hit the stage, "The Devil's Den," which got the people even more excited for the rest of the show.

That night, huge images flashed across the stage’s backdrop featuring a variety of pictures that ranged from a Pomeranian dog to multiple cats. The crowd was not awed by the animals, but rather the larger than life dancing alien and skeleton that was copying Moore’s every move. Upon closer inspection one could see that Moore wore gloves attached to cables, so when he moved the projection behind him followed him. Cylinders stood off to the side, creating a 3D effect that stretched throughout the hall, giving one the sense that they were in a psychedelic motion picture.

The amount of bass released that night easily hit eardrum-popping decibels, but the deafness one would face was easily worth the amazing show witnessed at the sold-out amphitheater. Being the last night of the Skrillex Cell Tour, all the DJs came on stage together and bowed for the audience; Skrillex promising to be back soon.

Next time he's in town, I would definitely recommend going to the show as he promises a once in a lifetime experience for those lucky enough to get a ticket.
