The Constellations
Once I arrived at the Culture Room, I was astonished to see the lack of people. I thought to myself, “Oh great, this concert is going to be a complete bust.” However, as the night unraveled the venue filled to capacity with the most interesting crowd.
The first band that tried to entice the crowd was The Constellations. Unfortunately, they failed miserably. A little more and they would’ve put the crowd to sleep. They didn’t have that "it" factor that made the audience scream for more. It was becoming clear that the crowd was craving the headlining entertainment they came for.

Wallpaper
Just when all hope seemed lost, along came the group Wallpaper. Looking like a 90s pop band I was a little skeptical as to whether they would deliver great material. With exhilarating dance moves and over the top drumming skills, the California band proved me wrong. Wallpaper was on a mission to make the crowd lose control. Was the mission accomplished? Oh yes! Without a doubt, The Sounds picked the perfect band to open for them.
All of a sudden, the venue became dark and the lights from the stage flickered. The crowd became lively and it seemed that the night was going to be unforgettable.

The Sounds
All of a sudden, the venue became dark and the lights from the stage flickered. The crowd became lively and it seemed that the night was going to be unforgettable. The Sounds entered the stage, unknowing of the treat that was in store.
As soon as front woman, Maja, directed the microphone toward her mouth, she became inaudible. The crowd’s voices became a unison overpowering Maja’s vocals. Song after song, the crowd sang every lyric to every song. There came a point that Maja was so flattered she said, “This is f**king great! I did not expect you guys to know all of the songs.” That only intensified The Sounds’ desire to give a thrilling performance and they did. Both The Sounds and the crowd were high on the music.

The crowd enjoyed Maja's crude sexual displays and her everlasting smoking of cigarettes while on stage. Sex, drugs, and rock and roll were the themes of the night not only for The Sounds, but for the crowd as well. I left the concert knowing the audience got their money’s worth. Although the Swedish band isn’t mainstream, I can see their music becoming the next big thing. As for lead singer Maja, it became clear that big things come in small packages.
