“It was the greatest show of all time,” said frequent mosher Jeffrey Vendette, as he walked out hand-in-hand with his girlfriend, holding Terror merch and grinning ear to ear. Bringin’ It Back for the Kids Fest on May 13 and 14 was jam packed with hardcore bands on the two stages at Rocketown in Pompano Beach.

Terror
A bouncing crowd full of tattoos, bleached hair jobs and tough shells swelled at each stage as bands like The Mongoloids, Casey Jones, Thick As Blood, Foundation, Shai Hulud, Trapped Under Ice, Stick To Your Guns, Terror and many more both large and local took the stage.
With a record breaking crowd of more than 600, surely the food spots around Rocketown’s surrounding plaza like Tijuana Flats, Starbucks and Bru’s Room were appreciative as the beanies-and-cut-off-shorts-clad crowd floated around scarfing down their grub.
Fans old and new found themselves screaming along to the nostalgic sounds while those who came to get rowdy jumped into one of the largest mosh pits I’ve ever seen: the whole floor.

Bringin' It Back served as the throwback show of the century, featuring classically idolized bands like Shai Hulud and Until the End.
“It was good to see many older bands that made South Florida what it is, like xBishopx. All in all, it was a great weekend of music,” said Scott Griffin, who went both days. “I can’t wait until next year’s Bringin It Back for the Kids Fest.”

Close Your Eyes
A theme of honor and dedication prevailed throughout the show as bands like Warfare played a tribute to the military. It was a show of respect that showcased pride, dignity and the straight edge culture. Despite being a heavy show, this theme rung true with the hardcore crowd that held to their ethos as they honored fallen soldiers of punk throughout the night of continuous mosh.
Bands like Stick To Your Guns, Close Your Eyes and Your Demise (who came all the way from England) lit up the stage while Terror and Until The End showed the crowd they don’t need a big venue with an array of bells and whistles to put on a good set.

Warfare
Playing an incomparably amazing set on a stage with barely enough room to breathe, fan favorite and often underappreciated Foundation proved to the big dogs that they deserved to be at this show.
“Overall the whole crowd brought their all. Definitely an A+ show,” said fan Thomas D’Ambrosio.
