Band Profile:

Stick to the Plan

Written by Emily Bloch

Although only formed in July of last year, the Cooper City based pop-punk band Stick To the Plan already sound like grizzled vets of the music scene.

The difficult breakup of lead singer Marc Sorrentino’s old band Agony’s Arrow inspired him to begin writing his own lyrics.

“It was originally supposed to be a side project kind of thing,” says the now cheerful singer.

After befriending guitarist Doug Posner, the two musicians went to go see the well-known Georgia based pop-punk band Veara perform.

“The energy they gave off to the crowd and the simple yet complicated mix of pop punk and hardcore influence amazed Doug and I. Right after that show, we got to work,” Sorrentino says.

With the addition of three more friends, Kyle Lacoste on drums, Bobby Blackburn on bass and Josue Vargas on guitar, Stick to the Plan took the form of a fun loving, fruit-punch obsessed, class clownish band. They quickly took the local scene by storm. Teaming up with fellow locals All In a Year, the two plan to release a split EP later this year.

Stick to the Plan's music will appeal to fans of New Found Glory, Veara, The Wonder Years, and Fall Out Boy.
