As soon as I arrived at the venue, Culture Room threw their doors open and eager fans scrambled inside to see a diverse show with indie rockers AutoVaughn, psychedelic band Morning Teleportation and mainstream rockers Cage the Elephant.
First on was Tennessee band AutoVaughn, who put a spin to their music with their Southern influences. Throughout the band’s entire set, the crowd swayed back and forth. Since the songs were mostly slow tempo, such as “Everyone Wants to Be Loved,” it was only fitting that the audience took in the music rather than starting a mosh pit. But as soon as the audience heard their newest single, “A Million to One,” there was not one pair of feet still planted on the floor. The building was shaking from the constant jumping and pushing.

Next up was Morning Teleportation, who was probably the most interesting band of the night. Since most of their songs were solely instrumental, I didn't expect a large amount of response toward their set, but the audience really took in everything about the performance, cheering and dancing along. Though there weren’t lyrics to most of their set, the crowd sang along to songs like “Banjo Disco” and “Crystalline,” attempting to recreate the sound of the instruments with their voices.
The final band of the night, Cage the Elephant, came out ready to go insane. The lead singer jumped all over the stage, frantically trying to touch everyone’s hands.

Cage The Elephant
The final band of the night, Cage the Elephant, came out ready to go insane. The lead singer jumped all over the stage, frantically trying to touch everyone’s hands. Even though it was pretty late at night at this point, you wouldn't have noticed since the audience didn't look tired at all. They were completely rowdy the entire time, not letting up for a second. The band played songs like, "Ain't No Rest For the Wicked" and "In One Ear." They also shared a few new songs from their new album, which they said they expected to debut this fall. Once the band had already come out and finished their encore, the lead singer was at it again, crowd surfing to the balcony and attempting to jump off. After four security guards tackled him to the ground and led him off the balcony, and one more attempt at crowd surfing, the band disappeared from the stage. After all the different bands of the night, and the craziness that occurred at the end, it was definitely a show to remember.
