I came to Revolution around 5 pm, and I have to admit; I was a bit surprised by the age difference. On my way to the venue I was expecting ages 16 – 20. Instead, there were probably ages from 16 – 40, no joke! I came not knowing what to expect. I had never seen an artist like Gavin Degraw live and had never in my life heard of Collective Soul or Green River Ordinance.
The crowd started screaming as Gavin Degraw began his song "Chariot." Of course, we all knew the song; it was as if everyone in the venue came together and sang.

Ed Roland, Collective Soul
By the time everyone was inside the venue, I could tell it wasn’t much of a big show; there was plenty of space to walk and plenty of space to breathe and not feel claustrophobic, nothing to complain about. The first band to come on stage was Green River Ordinance from Fort Worth, Texas. After hearing them live, I can honestly say they are now a band that I will be listening to. The singer Josh Jenkins came out and started off the show singing peacefully, and I could tell that many people were surprised with their sound! They sounded a little like The Fray. As the show went on, they sang one of their newest singles "Out Of My Hands," along with an older song "Goodbye L.A." During this song, the vocalist asked the crowd to sing the bridge along with him. They finished their set with a cover of "Free Fallin" by Pat Benatar and had the crowd singing along. Everyone seemed pleased with their set.
Next to come on stage was Collective Soul from Stockbridge, Georgia. They began their set with one of their newer songs, "Welcome All Again," from their new upcoming album Rabbit. They had more of a post-grunge/hard rock sound and attracted mostly the adults, who knew most of the lyrics to the songs. Later on the vocalist Ed Roland introduced us to the band members and cracked little jokes. The guitarist Joel Kosche provided plenty of guitar riffs during their set which had some of the crowd screaming and head banging. They ended with their latest single "Staring Down" and got off stage. After they finished playing, several people began to leave the show.

Joshua Wilkerson, Green River Ordinance
It was now 9:46, and everyone was screaming. Gavin Degraw came out, sat on his stool, and began to play his piano. He started his set with the song "I Have You to Thank." Everyone seemed happy and sang every word. Degraw told us a story about how some relationships are bad and joked around with the topic. He had us giggling. As time went by, the crowd started screaming as he began his song "Chariot." Of course, we all knew the song; it was as if everyone in the venue came together and sang. Along with "Chariot," he did a cover of "Goldigger" by Kanye West. Slowly and smoothly he went into his own song, "I’m in Love With A Girl." Once again, everyone went nuts. He left the stage and came back for an encore and sang the one song that everyone really knew, "I Don’t Wanna Be." Once he was offstage, I was happy and pleased with the way the show went. My feet were tired, but in the end, it was worth it.
