As I made my way onto Clematis Street where Respectable Street Café is located, I noticed all the fans, each wearing something either homemade or bought for Cobra Starship. After waiting in line with them, we were finally let in. The venue was not that big, and I knew by the end of the night it was going to be very cramped.

I made my way over to stand in front of the stage to await the remaining 20 minutes before the show started. As the equipment crew finished the sound check, the lights dimmed and the stage was set for The Friday Night Boys. They started off with "Suicide Sunday" from their new album Off the Deep End. The crowd had a few fans singing along, but not many. As the show progressed, I’m sure they made many new fans with their energy and songs, such as "Molly Makeout" and a few others. After they played their set, they said their thanks and were off to see their fans at a table set up on the side lines.

As they headed off stage, the crowd began to chant, "One more song," yet the band did not return. In unison, the crowd started singing words to the song, "Guilty Pleasure."

Guitarist Danny Stevens of The Audition

Twenty minutes later, the instruments were changed and set for the next two performers. First up was The Audition, or what was there of them. Danny Stevens, the lead singer of The Audition, informed the crowd that a few days before the show their van had broken down in Atlanta so he and another band member hitched a ride with The Friday Night Boys. Stevens played acoustic songs, which included "You’ve Made us Conscience" along with a cover of Katy Perry’s "Hot-n-Cold." The crowd seemed to be pleased with having just him up there, and they sang along.

After Steven's set, DJ Skeet Skeet took the stage in a mind-blowing performance. To be honest, I was not expecting him to be all that great. He played a fantastic set that included remixes of Katy Perry’s "Hot-n-Cold" and Metro Station’s "Shake It." That set the tone for the rest of the night, getting everyone hyped up for the main attraction. As he finished, the crowd started to settle down while they watched the equipment change. Water bottles were thrown every which way to keep people cool.

Once the lights went out, Cobra Starship ran on stage. The crowd went wild as Gabe Saporta, the lead singer, started to introduce them. He also informed us of a very special guest watching the show; the band Hey Monday had come out to see them. Cobra Starship played songs off their previous album Viva La Cobra, such as "Smile for the Paparazzi," "Damn You Look Good and I’m Drunk(Scandalous)," and crowd favorite "Snakes on a Plane." Despite the name of the tour, it was slightly disappointing that they only played their single, "Good Girls Go Bad" off their new album Hot Mess. As they headed off stage, the crowd began to chant, "One more song," yet the band did not return. In unison, the crowd started singing words to the song, "Guilty Pleasure." After a few verses, they seemed to give up, and that’s when Cobra Starship finally returned to the stage. They played "Good Girls Go Bad" and "Guilty Pleasure" to end the night. It was a fantastic show, but if you don’t like screaming teenage girls and you are claustrophobic, this is not the place for you!
