Sometimes, arriving two hours before doors open to a show does not guarantee your spot at the front of the line. March 24 at the Culture Room was definitely one of those days. Emarosa, Sky Eats Airplane and A Day To Remember were the opening bands for The Devil Wears Prada: The show that had been sold out for weeks. The fans waited outside the venue in a line that stretched to the street corner. Everyone cheered a minute after 7 p.m., letting security know that it was time to get this night started.
It didn’t take long for fans to make their way to the stage, crowding the room within minutes. Fans were so excited that they were even cheering for the sound engineer who walked onto the stage to adjust a mic. Suddenly, music videos playing on the screen overhead were replaced with text that read: "EMAROSA."

"I want you all to put your hands in the air!" demanded front man Johnny Craig before he kicked off the show with "What’s A Clock Without It’s Batteries?" In the middle of Emarosa’s performance, Johnny Craig commented on his "stinky feet," then paused to ask a fan, "Do my feet stink?" as he carefully placed his foot in front of the fan’s face.

The music videos appeared on the screen again as underage teenagers lit their cigarettes in anticipation of the next act. "You’re all wrong, I’ve got enough cheap love to cash out on," sang Jerry Roush — the vocalist of Sky Eats Airplane — as he performed "Numbers." Sky Eats Airplane didn’t need to bother asking the crowd to raise their hands; even one of the security guards had his fist in the air. Then again, maybe he was trying to control the crowd surfers that were making their way onto the stage.

Beach balls flooded the stage, setting a hometown Florida feel, as A Day To Remember made their way to the stage. "Let’s create the biggest f**king mosh pit Culture Room has ever had!" yelled one of the members. At that moment I felt bad for the girls who had horror written all over their faces as they got sucked into a twister of bodies. The energy was at an all-time high. A fan even jumped down from the balcony into the pit during "The Plot To Bomb the Panhandle."
Instead of your usual influence of sex, drugs, and rock’n’ roll, Devil Wears Prada told fans,"I want you all to know that Jesus Christ loves each and every one of you. Let’s have a good time dudes!" The circle pit A Day To Remember had started reached another level as The Devil Wears Prada performed songs from their album, Plagues. And what a plague it was! By the end of the night, the crowd was bloodied and bruised.
