Rachel Goodrich isn’t exactly your average musician. She carries a special blend of eclecticism with a dash of endearing eccentricity. The singer can not only carry out an impressive tune, she can also deliver some smashing notes that throw the crowd into a fine frenzy. Guitars, ukuleles and the piano are only a few of the many instruments that Goodrich has mastered.
With such a variety of music, it’s no wonder that she is greatly known for putting on an unforgettable show. Creating her own genre, which she calls "shake-abilly," it is evident that Goodrich has the traits to become a distinguished artist.
Growing up in the heart of South Beach, Goodrich was heavily influenced by the "cultures and festivities" that the city has to offer. She started her career performing on Lincoln Road, which came with fond memories of peculiar events.

"There’s been some funny little characters that’ll just come in and just start singing along," she says.
Perhaps that’s where the singer/songwriter acquired her allaround quirky persona that she’s so well known for. It comes as no surprise that Goodrich’s own personal style isn’t anything but her own. When asked about her on-stage attire and clothing influences, she smirked and replied, "Dr Seuss, definitely."

The rise of fame can get into any musician’s head, but not hers. Goodrich’s heart goes out to her fans.
"They’re inspirational, really. It makes me want to keep on going," she says. Goodrich is a firm believer of "having a lot of fun and going in with an open mind," believing that "whatever happens, happens."
Rachel Goodrich’s career is really sky rocketing; the singer has opened up for Devotchka and she was slated to perform in this year’s Langerado Festival, which was recently cancelled due to sluggish ticket sales. It’s a given that Goodrich has quite the career ahead of her, and we can all say we were lucky enough to witness such a fascinating artist come from our own little city.
