Senior Editor's Note

Just as fast as it snuck up on me, graduate school ended. At times it felt like graduation was light years into the future and now here I am days away from receiving a Masters degree—damn, that sounds good!

It’s strange how it always seems that way. Thinking back on all the monumental facets of my life, they all seemed insurmountable at first but somehow I managed to pull through. Thank God for that because I always manage to get myself way in over my head. Blame it on first-child syndrome or a severe case of type-A personality or maybe I just have a Napoleon complex and feel that at 5’1 I have something to prove to the world. Whatever the case may be, I’ve come to terms with my need for incessant to-do lists, and self-imposed deadlines. It’s the adrenaline rush that keeps me motivated and focused. It’s how I thrive and what gets me to achieve the goals I set out for myself. As crazy as it may sound to some, I wouldn’t change that for an instant.

I’m sure you can all relate—OK maybe not to the deadline thing or the color coding fascination—but to tapping into your drive and achieving your personal goals. Like me, many of you are probably on the verge of graduation. Whether you’re finishing high school or college, it’s a BIG DEAL and you should celebrate your awesome achievements! Party with conviction—for a day, a week, or a month, if you can.

Indulge in your favorite past time; get involved in new activities or travel! We’ve got tons of articles in this month’s issue of OUTLOUD to help you get started: from picking a new band to love, to finding creative and affordable summer travel deals.

Once you’ve taken a mental oasis and caught up on current events and entertainment news (be sure to log onto our website at www.outloud.com for past issues) you’ll be recharged and ready to draft a new battle plan—mine includes ruling the world one day, sorry that’s my PINKY AND THE BRAIN complex sneaking in as I write. Once you do set up future objectives, go at it full force. Who knows what will await us at the end of the finish line this time around!
