Bone Palace Ballet Tour

Featuring Chiodos, Emery, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, and The Devil Wears Prada

Midwest natives Chiodos galloped into South Florida with their headling tour, “Bone Palace Ballet”—and they brought Emery, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, And The Devil Wears Prada along for the ride.

I had arrived about an hour early to Revolution to make sure I had a good view of the show, but to my dismay there was already a huge line outside waiting. I had no choice but to linger in line with South Florida’s wannabe, “famous” MySpace celebrities.

But all was well again when The Devil Wears Prada, the first band of the night, let out a roar that left me completely in awe. They blazed through songs like, "Hey John, What's Your Name Again?" and "Don't Dink and Drance" from their sophomore album Plagues. Following the band was the ironically-named Scary Kids Scaring Kids from Arizona, who mellowed things out with their smooth indie rock tunes from their album The City Sleeps in Flames.

Once their performance was over, Emery walked out on stage and you could hear the clapping of hands and shouts of excitement. My heart thumped to the beat of the speakers once they began to perform; I knew I was in for a treat. The Seattle natives sang songs like, “Rock N Rule” and “The Party Song” from their new record I’m Only A Man, and it was incredible. The band’s energy was insane on stage, as they yelled into the crowd and created a huge mosh pit.

As soon as Emery walked off stage, the lights dimmed down. After waiting about 30 minutes for the next set, the crowd begun to chant “Chiodos, Chiodos, Chiodos.” Unexpectedly, the red curtains opened up and fog filled the stage. The crowd went insane, screaming and still chanting Chiodos while each member slowly took their place. With a flashing blue light on top of the stage, singer Craig Owens finally walked out with one hand in the air.

BOOM! Owens let out that amazingly sexy scream and the fans went insane, not to mention the crazy bitch in front of me who whacked me in the face because she couldn’t jump into the mosh pit. They sang their hits, "Baby, You Wouldn't Last a Minute on the Creek," "One Day Women Will All Become Monsters" and one of my favorites, "Bulls Make Money, Bears Make Money, Pigs Get Slaughtered" from their new 2007 album, Bone Palace Ballet. It was one of the most amazing songs I have ever heard live, not to mention my friend and I were the only ones shaking our butts instead of crowd surfing.

That long wait in line was definitely worth it. The bands music which ranged from hardcore to indie was just sick. The night was filled with earsplitting guitar solos and one hell of a line up in a venue that will forever kick ass!
