And Then There Was You
at Warped Tour 2006
Miami Locals Seize the Scene
By Leah Pritchett
Typically when you think of Miami, you think about the breathtaking beaches, mind-blowing cars, world-famous rappers and pop stars throwing the biggest parties, but what you didn't expect is that this city has its own underground scene that consists of punk, hardcore and indie rockers. And to add to our own diversity we had alluring locals, And Then There Was You, rock out this year's Warped Tour on the Ernie Ball Stage for Battle of The Bands.

The band began as a side project in the summer of 2005 and at the time they were lacking a bass player, a slot soon filled by Steve Vazquez. When the band started the target was to aim for a musical genre of dance/power pop. Guitarist Eddie Castineira wanted to start a new band that was somewhat influenced by the melodies of bands like Fairthweather and Acceptance.
But while trying to keep up with this project, the members wanted to keep focus on their own full-time bands as well. After attending a show that featured Acceptance and Panic! at the Disco, Soler and Castineira realized this was the style of music they wanted to create and share with the world.
Starting from scratch, Alex De Renzis and Bret Swensson decided to take the side project seriously. Since then, they've been building a passionate fan base in South Florida, which gave them the opportunity to play at this year's Warped Tour.

"Armando, Alex, and Bret played Warped Tour last year with their bands. It was more of like a little dream come true for me," said Castineira. "Back in ë96 and ë97 when I was [listening] to Pennywise and MxPx, I always wanted to play on Warped Tour because those were the bands that I looked up to. I was just so grateful that my band was given the chance to play."
The band is recording six new EPs, and is in the process of booking a couple of weekend tours across Florida. You can catch them live on July 8 at Rays Downtown in West Palm Beach, FL. For more tour dates and special hearings of their music you can check the out at http://www.myspace.com/attwy.
