Dead Run

Greed. Lust. Faith. Paradise. This thriller contains all of those and much more. This book takes place in the Keys and South Florida, so it had me interested right away. Some of the scenes described in this novel are a bit graphic, but intense enough to keep the reader hooked until the very end. Just when you think you know who the bad guys are, the author expertly takes the plot through more twists and turns.

People turn up missing and dead, and just when clues turn up more questions are asked; who is behind such evil? Liz Ames is drawn to Key West to look for her missing sister after she receives a disturbing message on her answering machine. Filled with guilt and regret at their last conversation and determined to find her sister, Liz starts to investigate strange occurrences in this small and seemingly perfect town. The closer she gets, the more danger she finds herself in.

Trusted friends turn out to be dangerous foes and just as Liz figures out some truth, she realizes she's on her own.

One of the subjects I was able to appreciate in this novel, which I couldn't put down at one point no matter how heavy my eyelids became, was the unconditional love and faith that the people of the church are capable of having. Just when you think you can't take the obstacles life sends you, there is still determination left in all of us making us capable of doing what we think is impossible. When our faith is put to the test, do we run or do we fight back?

Even though this book was pure fiction, it gave me something to ponder. Not only can South Florida take a good hit like Hurricane Andrew and later rebuild itself once again, but maybe we can also discover that there is strength we have that we're not even aware of. Other books by Spindler are Cause For Alarm, Bone Cold, and her newest, In Silence. Get your copy of Dead Run today and prepare yourself for an incredible journey.
