Check out the newest gadgets to hit the
streets
By: Julian Quintana
On the road, technology can may
a worthwhile trip even more entertaining.
Tired of listening to repetitive
tunes on the radio? Maybe it's time to invest in your own music. The
new Apple iPod gives you that chance to take 10, 15 or 30 GB worth
of music with you; every GB fits just about 200 songs, so you do the
math.
Retails for $299 (10 GB), $399 (15 GB) and $499 (30 GB)
If noise is starting to drain
out your music, it can be a major drag
unless you're wearing
a pair of Sony Noise-Canceling Earphone. Reducing the sound up to
70% is just what you need to ignore the annoying construction work
across the street. Retails for $89
And there's more for all you
music junkies out there. Belkin offers the TuneCast FM Transmitter,
which transmits any audio onto your radio via a wireless FM transmission.
All you have to do is plug it into the headphone jack of a device.
Retails for $29.95
If you're more interested in
viewing movies on-the-road, Toshiba's SD-P2000 is a portable DVD player,
with a large progressive scan screen that plays many disc formats
and doubles as an MP3 player. Although it isn't a home theater system,
it's the best way to get through a road trip. Retails for $450
If you can't part with the home
theater experience, i-glasses HRV is the solution for the not-so-portable
large screen TV. Video is displayed on special goggles, which hook
up to any video device via a composite connection, giving you the
feeling that you're staring straight at a home theatre setup. Retails
for $699
